Summer Pickin' Part Two

    Ready for more?
This black forest cuckoo clock is probably my favorite item in this pick.  I will probably keep it.  I do have the missing deer antler!  We put the pieces back together and hung it on the wall and it did run for a few minutes.....our challenge is finding a place to hang it.  It needs to sit very evenly on the wall and we need to find a good place.  What a neat find....
For those that don't know, this is a draw knife.  We used a couple of these in preparing the logs for our house, you pull it towards you and strip off the bark from the logs.
    Smelting ladle.
The washboard has already gone to a new home.

A sad iron handle!!!  These are hard to find, cleaned and waxed and paired with the two sad irons I have at the cabin already.
A 50's Geiger Counter, complete with leather case.  I am not sure if it works, but it is so cool.

This butter mold has a nice clear image.
Neat little chess table, and I do have the chess pieces!

I got this sewing machine with the plan of using the legs for a table, but I may keep this one and use the one I already own for that.  I believe once put together, this may be in better condition.

I can never resist galvanized goodness!

Or a wire milk crate!  Or a homemade box, with nails and screws in it.....

Last but not least....my state!  This is cut out of steel, and with its weight and curve it is probably made from a piece of the oil pipeline.  There have been quite a few people that have made these, but I have no paper work with it.  It is a great piece.......did I mention heavy?!

  1. Maybe we cannot shop together - we would have a fight over most of this treasure! Love the galvanized items.

  3. Great find's once again.I love the butter mold, any type of treen ware I'm known to spend a little too much moolah on.My mom made homemade butter on the farm when I was growing up and would use her butter mold's. The good old day's !! Of course anything galvanized is golden !! Donna's kind of a sly one, fight fair ....? Of course she'd give you the shirt off her back and is the best. We have to give her a little grief every now and then. Enjoy your post's :))) TT

  4. Thanks so much Tammy! The image on the butter mold is so nice and clear, makes me wonder if it was only used for special occasions. Yes, Donna is the best!
